    IATSE Local 706 Awards to be Held

    Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Paramount Studios Theatre

    LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13, 2015 – Online submissions for the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards (IATSE Local 706) honoring outstanding achievements for make-up artists and hair stylists in motion pictures, television, commercials, and live theater will open October 13, 2015. Voting will also begin for Lifetime Achievement and Artisan Awards. Submissions and voting will be made online at www.local706.org. This year’s awards gala will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Paramount Studios Theatre. The official announcement came from IATSE Local 706 President Sue Cabral-Ebert

    The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 20, 2015 at 5 PM (PT). The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) members will vote to determine the nominations.     LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14, 2015 – The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) tonight announced winners of its Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards in 19 categories of film, television, commercials and live theater during the black-tie ceremony at the Paramount Studios Theatre. The awards took place before an audience of more than 500, including guild members, industry executives and press. MUAHS President Sue Cabral-Ebert presided over the awards ceremony with Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs) serving as host. The MUAHS Awards after-party was courtesy of M.A.C. Cosmetics and spirits were presented by Patrón Tequila.

    Golden Globe®-winner Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy) presented the Distinguished Artisan Award to his longtime friend and collaborator Guillermo Del Toro (Crimson Peak). Acclaimed director John Landis presented the Make-Up Artist Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar®-winning make-up legend Rick Baker. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) President Cheryl Boone Isaacs presented the Hair Stylist Lifetime Achievement Award to Emmy® Award-winning hair stylist Kathryn Blondell.

    The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE, Local 706) was chartered in November 1937. Today, membership includes over 1,900 artisans in the entertainment industry worldwide. Local 706 members are make-up artists and hair stylists who have created the looks for Hollywood’s most memorable characters and stars of stage, screen, television and now the Internet. The wide-ranging domains of these artists include feature films and television, commercials, “live” network television, all types of theatrical productions and Disneyland theme parks.
